Thre3-6ix radio is an online station, allowing it to be heard anywhere in the world, via your phone, laptop, tablet, internet connected radio or smart speaker! Yes, you read that correctly! The Chesney Hawkes. Chris and Zachary caught up with the 1991 chart-topper for a special interview ahead of our big Thre3-6ix weekender (May 10-12). Chatting from his home in Los Angeles, Chesney discussed his career to date, from the breakthrough performance in movie Buddy’s Song, which spawned his debut album and the monster chart smash The One and Only. Jingles all the way for the Squirrels

Our youngest and newest section, Arran Squirrels, have been getting into the radio spirit this week by producing their own jingles as part of a radio-themed evening. The four-to-six-year-olds learned all about what it takes to run a radio station - just like Thre3-6ix. They created their own weather forecasts (please send us some more springtime sunshine!), read out the news, chose their favourite songs and created their own Thre3-6ix Radio jingles. You'll hear some of their songs and their jingles during our 36-hour radio show - so be sure to tune in. There will probably be a few appearance from one or two Squirrels live on the air! Yes - live Squirrels on the radio - we can't wait! In the meantime, check out one of their jingle-tastic efforts below!

Interview Planning

You cant have a radio show without guest, Chris has been busy setting up interviews sending many emails, from people in Pangbourne, to organisations in Australia (well we do have to broadcast all night, through to LA! Yes really, the LA in America! Interviews are starting to get booked up in advance, and the explorers will be out over the coming weeks pre-recording interviews with those who can't make it on the weekend, great practice for when they need to do it live! Training With Scout Radio

Our Explorers were given a radio masterclass by @scoutradio for their first evening of summer term ahead of our 36-hour show in a few weeks time. They learn the importance of knowing what your going to say before speaking and played radio themed memory games. Before thinking about how you would fill just 1 hour of radio, and what makes a good interview. So that's 1 hour of radio planned, 35 hours to go, well kind of, we did split them into a few groups, so about 6 planned! Reading Half Marathon

On Sunday 14th April those heading to Malawi, their family, and friends headed to Mile 3 to hand out water to the runners, this is something the group has done for many years, started when others went off on international trips, we couldn't do this without all those who join us. Its always a fun time, if not a little busy, and always seams to end with some kind of water fight. Hear more about the fundraising the explorers have got up to during their 36 hour broadcast on the 10th to the 12th May! A special shout out has to go to Dom who's heading to Malawi rather than just help at the water station sent his parents and sisters to the water station, and he himself ran the race! Members Disco – Saturday 11th May

Come join the fun of our very own Thre3-6ix Radio Festival; put on your dancing shoes and party with your fellow members of Scouting. Thre3-6ix Radio Festival is raising money for the 12 members of 1st Purley and Pangbourne to attend the Berkshire Scouts community project to Malawi this summer. Over the weekend of 10th to 12th May, they will be broadcasting live online from Adventure Dolphin telling the world about 1st Purley and Pangbourne and their trip to Malawi.
