2019 Training
More practice for our Three Six Radio team today, thanks to Roger and Martin from @scoutradio for their time (and patience!). We even included some radio content into the St George’s celebrations. The team spent time getting used to presenting, how to use the equipment, along with some top tips on how to present, interview, and produce radio. Two weeks’ time and it’ll all be over!

An important aim of Thre3-6ix Radio will be to showcase the best of our Scout Group, 1st Purley & Pangbourne. We will be featuring as many of our young people and adult volunteers on the 36-hour show as possible. We want it to be a radio show for everyone to get behind. One of our Explorers, Joshua, visited his old Pack, Kingfisher, this week to capture some pre-record interviews that will be broadcast during the show. Trust us, there are some awesome responses. Thanks to the Kingfishers for letting Thre3-6ix Radio come to visit!

World Scout Jamboree

2019 Who are We
Background The World Scout Jamboree (WSJ) is an international and educational event held every four years and hosted by a national Scout organisation (or hosted by joint organisations) with support from the World Organisation of the Scout Movement (WOSM). Recent WSJs usually attract 30–40,000 Scouts, aged 14–18 years, from almost every country and territory in the world.Participants attend in Units of 36 Scouts (split into four patrols) supported by four leaders. Scouts and leaders from Berkshire have been part of United Kingdom contingents travelling to WSJs for many decades! The WSJ, above all else, is an educational event that brings together young people from across the world to promote peace and mutual understanding and to develop leadership and life skills.
